Rep. Mell's "There Ought to Be a Law" essay contest deadline

The deadline for Rep. Mell's "There Ought to Be a Law: essay contest has been extended from December 18, 2009, to January 15, 2010, to allow students time over their winter break to work on their essays. I hope you will share this information with teachers and students you know. Applications and essay rules and guidelines are now available online at http://debmell.org. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to engage your children in the civic process. Winners will receive a trip to Springfield, tickets to the Abraham Lincoln Museum and a chance to testify before a committee. Middle school and high school students should submit their applications and essays to leah@debmell.org.
