Independence Park Farmers Market on Sunday, July 8, 2012, 9 am to 1 pm, Irving Park Road/Hamlin. Over 30 vendors selling seasonal, fresh fruits and vegetables, coffee, chocolate candies, crepes made-to-order, cheeses, meats (including Halal lamb), olives, jams and jellies, sauces and salsas, ice creams and sorbets, lemonade, honey, gluten-free baked goods, French and Polish bakeries, handmade soaps, lip balms, organic cleaning products and mosquito repellant, frozen blueberries, whoopee pies, pet treats, spices, live plants, tofu and sprouts, vermiculture and much more! Children’s Craft Class from 10 am to noon. The teacher is bringing musical instruments for the kids to play and her husband will videotape the kids playing. He will email you a copy if you wish. Multilingual Chicago and Voice of the City will be offering a Spanish Music class called Canta Conmigo, an early childhood bilingual music/movement program that includes songs, finger-play, instruments and dancing for children and families! Noon to 1 p.m. The bluegrass musicians are in a new spot so that your can spread your picnic blanket on the ground and listen. Bring along your guitar and your singing voice.
