The tenth year of the Michelin Guide recommended Independence Park Farmers Market at Irving Park Road (4000 north) and Springfield Ave. (3900 west), Chicago, starts on Sunday, June 9, 9 am to 1 pm. Over 30 vendors selling everything from grilled English bangers to vegetarian tamales, crepes made-to-order to gourmet free trade coffee, organic fruits and seasonal vegetables, organic meats, including Halal lamb, honey, eggs, kettle corn, gourmet chocolates, baked goods, cheeses, olives and olive oils, handmade chemical-free soaps, shampoos, tofu and bean sprouts, meat rubs and marinades, canned vegetables, dry soup mixes, fancy cupcakes and more! LINK is accepted at the market. Free Children’s Craft Class from 10 am to noon. Also Multilingual will be teaching Spanish through stories and crafts from 10 am to noon. Entertainment: Arabesque Dance and Fitness Studio will be performing belly dances at 11:45 am. The Indy Park Jammers, our all time favorite bluegrass band, will be back! Be sure and bring your singing voice and your musical instrument to join in with the musicians. Environment: Lights for Learning will illustrate the tangible benefits for adopting energy-efficient products and simple energy-saving behaviors.
